Katie joins a panel discussion: What are we actually giving back? Why is the gambling Industry always painted as the big bad wolf? What can we do to change this perception?

About Katie Fry. Gambling Support Service.

Katie Fry leads on the Citizens Advice Gambling Support Service. She began her Citizens Advice career locally in her home town of Newport where she developed the Gambling Support Service that went on to receive the Citizens Advice ‘One Service’ award in 2018.

Following the success of the local project Katie moved to national Citizens Advice to roll out and develop the service across the network. She has trained 1000’s of frontline staff to recognise gambling harm and the support available. She has also spoken at dozens of national conferences and wrote many articles on the subject of gambling-harm minimisation. Katie previously worked for the NHS in a variety of fields including Neurophysiology and mental health. Katie is a staunch supporter of Welsh rugby and lives in Newport with her 2 teenage children and her faithful furbaby Oscar the dog!
