The panel will be moderated by Harrison Sayers a reporter at GamblingCompliance – the leading provider of independent legal, regulatory and business intelligence to the global gambling industry.

Helena Berg.

Helena Berg is the Responsible Gaming Manager at ComeOn! With customers from all over Europe she has extensive experience with different cultural aspects.

Her educational background is within the social and behavioural sciences with a Master’s degree in Psychology and a Bachelor’s degree in Social Anthropology.

David Caruana.

David Caruana is the Responsible Gaming Manager at Kindred. In a decade of experience within the online gambling industry, David covered various roles in customer support, payments, risk and fraud functions before joining Kindred in his current role.

He is a strong believer in the concept of sustainable gambling. David is constantly working with researchers, treatment centers and reformed gambling addicts to deliver a safe, secure and supportive environment.

Pedro Romero.

Pedro is a leading Safer Gambling & Sustainability consultant working for GiG. He is the former Head of Customer Operations at JPJ Group. Prior to this appointment, Pedro was the Head of Gambling Therapy, a charity providing online support for problem gamblers worldwide. He also worked as Head of Operations and Member of the Board of Marathonbet in Brighton, UK.

Pedro is a trained psychologist and counsellor coming from a psychodynamic approach, with extensive CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) training. This expertise makes him one of the few people to have clinical, Safer Gambling and senior experience in the industry.

Furthermore he is a member of the BACP, the BPS, and former chairman of The Rock Clinic Association in Brighton. In addition, he is an Executive Leadership Coach trained at the world-famous Tavistock Institute, in London.

Danny Cheetham.

Danny Cheetham will always be a problem gambler, but uses tools and self set hurdles to avoid placing another bet, as he understands it has becomes uncontrollable.

Currently, Danny is focused on writing about his experience, along with regularly sharing his own personal opinion on the gambling industry.

Danny thinks that responsibility is two sided. Both the operators and players each need to understand that gambling can become too much. He spends his own times talking about his memories and journey to try ensure the safe guards are in place for others who may be in the situation he once was.

Dr Yanica Sant.

Yanica has been a member of the Malta Gaming Authority’s legal team for five years. She currently occupies the position of Senior Counsel for Legal, International Affairs and Policy. Yanica is reading for an LL.M in Technology, Media and Telecommunications Law at the Queen Mary University of London.

Yanica’s main areas of work include providing advice on the application of gaming regulation and on policy matters, and drafting guidelines and legislation. She is heavily involved in all EU and international matters pertaining to the gaming industry, and is also currently focused on the MGA’s increasing focus on player protection and the application of the GDPR to the same industry.

Lee Willows.

Lee is the CEO at YGAM & Director at YGAM Innovation Limited. He has spent 25 years in the education and third sectors, progressing from a front line post-16 teacher and youth worker, to holding senior leadership positions with Kingswood Learning & Leisure Group, Princess Trust, Newcastle College Group and Trailblazers. Lee’s personal struggles with gambling was the catalyst to establish YGAM.
